Vice President Meets Jedah Chambers of Commerce and Industry Top Officials

A Delegation led by Somaliland vice president H.E Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismael (Sayli’i) meets with top officials of Jedah Chambers of Commerce and Industry. According to information reaching Somaliland News Agency (Solnanews.com) the Saudis disc used with the VP about Somaliland traditional relationship with Saudi Arabia that started since the time of immemorial. They also talked about the bilateral relationship which connects the two countries through trade.

VP sayli’I stated that Somaliland government is working to promote free trade between the two countries calling on the Saudias to take advantage of the business opportunities available in the country and invest.

The deputy president reciprocated and invited the Jedah Chambers of Commerce and Industry to come and sample the various investment opportunities awaiting them in Somaliland. The VP invitations will bring the top Saudi Arabia investors to Somaliland.

The Saudi investors are planning to invest in agricultural economy by introducing dates which will be cultivated in large scale. They will also invest in the fishery sector whereby they will establish fish processors factories in the country. The investors also have an eye on the lucrative livestock industry.

The vice president was accompanied by the opposition UCID chairman Mr.Faisal Ali Warabe, Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Khalil Abdillahi Ahmed, Assistant Minister of Information Culture and National Guidance Mr.Mohammed Muse Abees and opposition politician Mr.Mohammed  Nuur Arale.

The delegation which was in Saudi Arabia for the annual Hajj pilgrimage received the highest protocol welcome from the Saudi government. Furthermore Somaliland flag was hoisted for the first time in the Hajj venue. This meeting will open a new avenue for Somaliland/Saudi relationship.
