Former Ethiopia Zone Five President Facing Charges of Atrocities against Humanity

The former president of Somali administered region of Ethiopia popularly known as zone 5 Mr.Abdi Mohammud Omar (Abdi Iley) is facing charges of human rights abuses in Addis Ababa. The former president and six accomplices will be arraigned in court this is according to Ethiopia News Agency (ENA). According to the Ethiopia attorney general Mr.Abdi Iley is accused of inciting violence against different tribes that live in the country.

The former dictator is accused to be behind the violence that had engulfed Jigjiga city and her environs. Others in the list are his former lieutenants in crime their names are as follows…

1.       Abdi Jamal Qalombi former minister of justice

2.       Rahma Mohammed former head of children and women affairs

3.       Ibrahim Mahad minister of education

4.       Deeqa Abdillahi  minister of water resources

5.       Ibrahim Mohammed Mubarig Mayor of Jigjiga

The Somali administered region of Ethiopia parliament cancelled 99 districts created by the former regime. During his hey days the former zone five president created a ruthless police outfit called Liyuu Police which he used as a tool of suppression.
